Margaret Scahill - 1940 - Index of Probates and Wills - 1861 to 1941
This is an extract from Ancestry.com
This database is a collection of historical probate records from the United Kingdom. The records in this collection can range in date from the early 1500s to the mid- to late-1800s. The records include wills and other miscellaneous types of probate records. All of the data was converted as it was originally presented in various published registers and books. For this reason, you will find interesting phonetic spellings and large descriptive tables of contents.
What should I know about this collection to access the data?
Some of the records may be in Latin or even a Welsh or Scottish dialect depending on location. The spelling is archaic, and is transcribed as it was written. There are many spelling inconsistencies and non-standard grammar. Phonetic spelling is often used. Try using variant spellings if a search yields no results.

Mrs Thomas Scahill - Eats 20 Year Old Blueberries - Historical Newspapers - The Anaconda Standard, Anaconda, Montana

September 4, 1889, on the eve of Montana statehood, Marcus Daly gave birth to Montana’s best financed and most prestigious newspaper, the Anaconda Standard. Just five years earlier, Daly had platted the town site of Anaconda, named for his extraordinarily rich copper mine located in Butte. The new town would house smelting operations for one of the world’s most successful metals corporations. To run the Anaconda Standard, Daly sought out John H. Durston, a former professor of philology from New York University and an editor of the Syracuse Standard [LCCN: sn91066098]. In 1888 Durston had brought his family west to operate a failing gold mine east of Butte, but he soon signed on with Daly to bring the newspaper to life. Daly’s initial investment of $30,000 provided for a state-of-the-art printing press, luxurious editorial offices, and the money to hire experienced editors, reporters, and graphic designers. The Anaconda Standard was to be the rival of newspapers in Minneapolis and the Pacific Northwest...
