Thomas J. Scahill - Death Records - Kansas City, Missouri - Washington State Digital Archives - Social Security Death Index - SSDI

The Washington State Digital Archives is the nation's first archives dedicated specifically to the preservation of electronic records from both State and Local agencies that have permanent legal, fiscal or historical value.

Located in Cheney, WA on the Eastern Washington University campus, the new facility was designed from the ground up to host this technically complex program. The web interface and database storehouse were custom designed specifically for the Digital Archives to hold the unique and very important electronic records found throughout the state, and to provide simple, straight forward access to researchers.

The Digital Archives includes a state of the art research room, complete with computer research stations, a high tech presentation classroom and a world-class data center.

This database contains the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) for individuals who have either died outside of Washington state or have died in a location that cannot be extracted directly from the given data.

Record Series: Death Records
Collection: Social Security Death Index - All Other States
County: Statewide

Name: Thomas J. Scahill
Reference Number: 494-14-7493
Death Date: 02/25/2005
Birth Date: 08/03/1921
Last Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Last Residence Zipcode: 64133
Social Security Number: Refer to Washington State Digital Archives

Verification Code Explanation: "V" code means that the report has been verified with a family member or someone acting on behalf of the family and a "P" code means that the death certificate has been observed.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) maintains a Death Master File, a record of approximately 70 million deaths that were reported to SSA. The SSA publicly releases the Social Security Number of deceased individuals to prevent identity theft. This allows banks and other businesses to deny the use of these inactive SSNs and prevents a living person from assuming the identity of a deceased person.
